This event will be held at Five Happiness ( 3605 S Carrollton Ave, New Orleans, LA 70118) from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm.

To help you get to know more about Mauro, he was gracious enough to sit with us for a quick Q&A session:

ACRP SELA Speaker Mauro Ormedilla
ACRP SELA Speaker - Mauro Ormedilla, Operations Director of DelRicht Research

Q: How long have you been working in the clinical research industry?

A: I’ve been in clinical research for the past 7 years and have worked at DelRicht for the past 3.

Q: What does clinical research mean to you?

A: I see clinical research as a platform that brings together all other industries to promote healthcare and well-being.

Q: What advice do you have for professionals looking to grow within the industry in southeast Louisiana?

A: Be a jack-of-all-trades. Learn more than how to coordinate. Learn clinical skills. Understand regulatory, operations, budgets, recruitment, business development. Get to know the key aspects (inclusion/exclusions, disease progression, common meds, etc) of each indication so you can talk to anyone about anything. Ask Sponsor’s and CROs what their issues are and how your site can help address them. Seek knowledge outside of your area of expertise – the industry is so wide and there are so many opportunities that the more information you gather, the better informed your career decision will be.

Q: What do clinical research professionals have an opportunity to learn about during your presentation on August 28th?

A: How to transcend the scope of patient care to develop corporate-level strategies that enhance growth and profitability.
